![]() Originally posted by Aranador:It is at the moment, one of the best grand strategy space 4X titles out there. if you have 9 command points maximum, you can have 9 corvette class ships before the any use command points)Īlso once you have all of these ships garrisoned, other civilizations will notice that you have some military might and it will factor into your diplomacy. The cost for exceeding your command points is not high.Ĭorvette class ships are command point free until you exceed your maximum command points (i.e. Now as soon as you move them out from the planet, they cost full command points, but even that is not a huge deal. 4 garrisoned freighter class ships is only 2 command points (the amount you get from a starbase, wink wink). Garrisoned ships do not use full command points! make 2-4 frieghter class ships and just garrison them. (unless of course you turn off all the fun random stuff.booooring) This game will knock you out of your 4x comfort zone and its a good time! You will not have as much time as you want, so you have to be scrappy. Ask yourself every turn, can I fend off a large fleet of ships? If not build something to help defend. You have to play this game as if you will get attacked by a fleet of ships every turn right from the start. If your used to being able to take the first 50-100 turns and peacefully build your infastructure, yeah you will find this game very hard if not impossible. The game still gives me a feeling of adventure and discovery every time I play, I've put in over 200 hours and I'm still finding new stuff, still experimenting with new race builds, Hard lvl still gives me a challenge and Brutal still kicks my ass.Īdmittedly I am the target audience for this game, I enjoy 4X and RTS but I think people from either genre will enjoy it too. All of these areas have seen considerable improvement and modernization. This game has a lot in common with MoOII, extensive race customization, diplomacy, espionage ground combat ship customization, ship battles and even the main quest has some similarities. So to win you will have to fight, but if you don't do the research, and you don't take care of your empire and economy then you won't stand a chance.Īgain the dev has listened been listening to peoples responses here, so we may get new victory modes sometime in the future. Some others feel the complaint is warranted because the battles are RTS in nature (with an emphasis on the S for Strategy). The complaints have come because currently there are no diplomatic or research victory conditions. However the dev has put in some patches already to reduces the difficulty of the easy lvl and the number of aggressive early game events you might find. There have been many responses to this, some people are fine with it other are having a had time, basically a lot of effort was put into the AI but no one thought to make easy the lvl easy enough. http: /so you know, I was one of the Beta testers for the game ![]() It brought new technologies, new equipment for the ships and probably more (it's been a while since I played). Some may be too old and will not work anymore. I'm not sure that all these mods will work with the current version of the game. Of course if the authors recognize their mods and want them to be removed, I will remove the links. Because I think a modder could find resources or ideas. That's why, I like to share with the community the old mods that I have in archive. ![]() I was surprised to see that a "new" mod had appeared. I have the feeling that they have not been interested for a while in Stardrive 2 which is quite understandable for a lot of reasons. However, this mod is not the only mod existing (or rather having existed) for Stardrive 2.Ī few years ago, on the official site of this game (which seems to no longer exist), there were 3 or 4 mods. I started again to test the mod "Stardrive 2 Reborn". I had not replayed Stardrive 2 for several months (if not more).
